Welcome! We are so happy to have you as a tenant for the coming year. We will do our very best to provide you with guidance to make your apartment transition as easy as possible and to help you feel at home with West Shore Apartments.

The attached MOVE-IN CHECKLIST was prepared to assist you with your transition. Please take a few minutes to review it.  This will guide you for the month leading up to the start of your lease. Please note that at check-in, we complete a Statement of Condition together to document the apartment’s condition. At move-out, we use the form and photos to compare any changes, such as cleaning or damage. Charges for cleaning or repairs are applied to your security deposit, but you remain in control—we provide a move-out guide with tips to help you avoid them.

As you prepare to move in, here are important key steps required to ensure a smooth check-in and a great rental experience. 

  • ***UTILITIES***: You are required to contact the utility company, NYSEG 800-453-1931, at least 2 weeks before your lease start date (before your check-in date) to arrange for the transfer or activation of utilities effective as of the beginning of your lease. (Please speak directly with an agent. You don't need the account number from the current tenant, just the apartment address and your information.) 

  • APPOINTMENT: Set up an appointment to check in - Appointment times are limited, so call or email to make your appointment with us ASAP (appointments must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance). We are flexible and will do our best to accommodate your schedule. We meet you at the apartment.

  • RENT: As a reminder, you have already paid your first month's rent & security deposit.  Your second month's rent is due based on the timing listed on your lease and your tenant portal. Rent is paid using your tenant portal. 

  • PARKING: If you signed up for parking, the parking payment is due before your move-in. The permit will be given to you at check-in.
